I'm a huge music fan, my favorite genres are grunge(which my friends say isn't music as it's "anti-music"), hippie-dippie folksy stuff, and punk(including folk punk). At least those were my favorites, until I discovered Gogol Bordello a couple years ago. Gypsy punk is still sort of under the mainstream radar, but it's going to be huge I can tell.
For Christmas, birthdays, labourday, etc I always get an I-tunes gift card, which is nice, but I'd rather buy vinyls, and I just started spending my Christmas Itunes cards.
At which point I decided to expand the amount of Gypsy Punk I own. I purchased Neptune's Daughter by Luminescent Orchestrii and Kultur shock.
I would also like to buy a Beruit album and a Balkan Beat Box album.
The joy of Gypsy Punk is it combines my love of upbeat folksy music with my punk music and the raw untouched up sound of grudge.
This recording really doesn't do the song Nasty Tasty by Luminescent Orchestrii justice, but it's awesome, i've listen to it about 15 times since I bought it yesterday.

That old story, I thought that was done with?
My best friend, my cartoon-looking friend and I were at the food court in the hospital after school(the school is right by the hospital) and after we'd picked up our food we went to leave, passing by a woman with her child. The woman looked us up and down and grabbed her child's hand pulling her to her other side and keeping her close.
What, I am curious, is the point of this? What did she think we would do to her child? Mug her? The child herself, did not seem particularly frightened by us, and was not young so there was no clear reason to pull her about by her hand.
What gets me, is the only reason I can see to react that way is one or all of our appearances, as none of us behave in a vulgar way in public. I don't often get offended about silly things, but this gets me rilled up. I am polite, caring, inquisitive and involved in causes and my friends are similar. The other thing I'd like to know is just what bugged her? My friends cartoonishly bright pink hair(perhaps she feared her child would be blinded), the spikes on my jacket, our bright lipsticks, my friends' freakishly tall height, or just simply that we are teenagers?
The other thing about this that unsettled me was the child's attire. She was wearing Victoria Secret's PINK line head to toe, she was so young that she had get to develop any curves and the clothes sagged awkwardly, what is it about our society that makes parents go out of their way to avoid an older teen who has evolved their fashion to suit themselves but at the same time allows their young child to wear head-to-toe label fashion? The kid will outgrow it and they shouldn't yet care about clothes like that. Until I was about 12 I had no "fashion" to speak of and certainly my mother would never have purchased anything that expensive.

Sometimes I make a fool of myself,
one of those times is when the subject of television comes up and my obsession with Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High, and Degrassi The Next Generation becomes VERY evident VERY fast. These shows have the power to turn me from my usual cynical self to a simpering, sobering bowl o' emotional wreckage in moments. I don't yet understand what mystical force lies behind the great power of the Degrassi Series, but it's got me, it's got me bad.
Anyways, I am strangely attached to all of the characters(aside from Cuh-loooad and scummy Scott in Degrassi High and Rick in TNG)but I have my favourites, based on fashion of course.

One of my favorites is Liz, she is a skinhead through and through. I don't like her views on the show, not one little bit(she is a Vicious Pro-Lifer, I am a Vicious Pro-Choicer, her views in real life parallel mine btw)but I love that she is fiercely opinionated. I can also relate to her reserved side, generally I seem outgoing, but appearances are deceptive.

Spike is another favorite of mine, she was fierce enough to give birth at 14, battling off offensive comments from people she'd never even met and being removed from Degrassi School for the duration of her pregnancy. Not only did she give birth, she kept it and it(well, she) became Emma Nelson on TNG. Spike was known for her legendary hair, which for much of the show was bigger and more wild than in the photograph.

I've been flued,
twice in four weeks. Eww, why me?
Anyways, I haven't written in a very long time.
I've been up to so much, for starters I got a sewing machine, Mario Kart for Wii, and an assortment of other gifts. My mom loves to spoil me because I'm her baby. Mario Kart was actually from my brother(a rare sign he doesn't hate me). I got a Wii last year, which was a big deal for me, my whole childhood I wanted a Video Game System, but my mom never allowed it(something about mind pollution).
I've also been trying to get a job, Lord knows I need the money, I need to save for school.
A lot of events have happened as well, a house shaking house party for one, which at some point got broken up by some rather rude cops, one of whom called me tipsy when I was decidedly sober because I couldn't find my boots because it was dark as someone had hit the circuit breaker.
As well someone sprayed bear mace. Nice guys, really nice. No one was impressed.
This blog was supposed to be about my good friend Mary Jane. Never fear, she is here.
I went to a small event with just some close friends of the, and I ran into some old friends/enemies from elementary schoolio and while becoming re-acquainted we inhaled about 10gs worth. When I got home, I wasn't even sure where I was, I thought maybe I was still at my friends house, and him and all his friends were there still and I was just sleeping and dreaming. Talk about freaky.
